Past is but the Present

Stop the Occupation

New song I’ve been working on for the past couple weeks

World is turning
Inside each day they slave away
As the night falls
It trickles as they sleep in their grave
Green November
The harvest gave me meaning to stay
Did I have to?
The answer is the reason I stray

In the evening
Standing in the shadow alone
All around me
My brothers huddle in their new home
Put it up now
Spread the messages that need to be heard
Lift your voices
Fuck the men that seek to smother your word

I know
I know its going down
This goddamn occupation
Is making me drown this Crown

Is it morning?
The people shy away from the light
Bright November
The darkness drowns the din of their plight
In the jungle
Sitting comfortably on their leather thrones
In the distance
Thousands struggle to put meat on their bones

Are you able
To recognize the sins of our kind?
Can freedom be worth the expense
of our children’s peace of mind?

Sorrow is all that you knew
Watching and waiting for truth
Stop your hoping for miracles to save you
You have a voice too

PATRICIA - Who needs vocals?

This is me improv soloing over the karaoke version of a song by The Pillows.

I was screwing around with some effects in post and this is what came out. I might rerecord some parts in the future.

The Wind (Demo Recording)

Alone he walks the road
Some time before the wind comes, he cries
To the heavens.
They say that the evil is gone
But that’s a lie, the devil’s around us
All around us.

The wind has come
The wind has come at last
But what will it bring?

The ocean parts again
The panicked fleeing masses engulf us
All is chaos
The story has begun
The worst has only yet to unfold now
But when will it end?

The wind has come
The wind has come at last
But what will it bring?
Those who walk the path
How do they know the right one was chosen?
And how could we know?

Governments fall
The people will rise up.
A new age begins
As freedom is no more.
The end of it all
Is just the beginning
But while we’ve made the mistake
Have we really learned?

A child lost in time
The flourescence of the hailstones astounds him
Shelter he seeks
The road was walked alone
But a thousand vigilantes patrol now
The danger is steep

The wind has come
The wind has come at last
But what will it bring?

The militant might will empower the strong and the wealthy
The age of the chorus of freedom has come to an end
The people are once again safe and secure in their homesteads
The concept of freedom their children will not comprehend

The darkness settles in
By candlelight the whole world is watching
And waiting…
It rises in the east
A new nation of the people empowered
Will peace be wrought?

The wind has come
The wind has come at last
But what will it bring?
This war has altered all
Our fealty and vehemence cursed us, but
We will carry on

Close to Insanity

A cover of my friend Phil’s song that he wrote for our band, Dope. He wrote the original guitar chords, and I wrote the horn parts.

In this cover I play every instrument. It’s a little more upbeat and ska-like than the original, which is much more laid back.

Entrance to Insanity

From across the hall he spoke and I know
that deep within my eyes he saw no soul
I’m so alone yet I must toke
to escape my conscious life
this fucked up chronic malady

In my mind I know the truth
(that life, the universe,)
and everything we know will one day die
So should I try to make a truce
with God, my family
and all these fucking shadows in my eyes

Is it chance
     or is it fate?
The chains of life, they wind so tight
How can They keep us wrapped up in this hate?

It all made complete perfect sense… to repent…
The demons in my mind must speak no more
So should I try to take a chance to save myself?
To shed… the darkness in
My ill-begotten past that haunts me

The cold and clammy concrete bricks
An understanding soul rests in her chair
Although she tries her best to fix… my broken self
The evil that pervades my mind is there

I never seem to know what’s right
But every time I’m wrong I feel my heart
Aching, calling out to me, and my sickened mind
It makes me question every action
I’ve done all that you’ve asked, why aren’t I sane?

The right of all
     is the blight of I
How can I cleanse my mind and soul?
How must I rid the darkness from my eyes?

Your spoken words can’t ease my pain
Yet silently dark words reveal a plan
They claim to rid me of this strife
But shall I heed the morbid call:
My God requires human sacrifice

Flash! A blinding light
A quiet mesh of red and flesh
A rush of panic deep inside me
The smell of death is fresh

The shocking grimace haunts my nightmares
What is this twinge I feel?
A disheatening revelation:
It’s not usually this real.

Ooh
Am I being trolled?
The entrance to the end is waiting just around the bend

*solo*
*slow bridge*

This path I travel all alone
Scorned and shunned by everyone I meet
And in this unfamiliar room, I sit and think
If we’re all crafted in His image, then
why do I endure this constant hell?

Am I being trolled?
The entrance to the end is waiting just around the bend

Is it, Can it, Will it, May it Be?

Very upbeat tempo in a major key, very traditionally ska/punk.

Straight into the spotlight I approach but is it strange that you don’t
Really see me?
The answers to the questions that I pose are unlike any you will
Ever want to hear
Do you really think that all this conflict and confusion is so
Necessary?
For everything you try to do, everything you want to do
Isn’t working out

Woah~
Is it really is it really true?
No~
The madness you thought was working.
So~
Is it, can it, will it, may it be?
No.

Time and time again you attempt to show to others that you
Aren’t guilty
But everytime you do your intentions are revealed and you look
Just like a fool
Why can’t you just act like a normal human being and be
Kind to others?
Or is it that you feel that exactly what you’re doing is the
Right and only way?

Woah~
Is it really is it really true?
No~
The madness you thought was working.
So~
Is it, can it, will it, may it be?
No.

I was once commissioned to write music for an RPG one of my friends was writing. He had the thing halfway done before he got bored of writing it, but I still wrote a couple songs, one for a dungeon, one for a village, and one for a safehouse.

This is supposed to be one of the dungeons, and the song name is Trail of the Tormented.

I feel like uploading a couple of my old pieces of music I wrote back in 6th through 8th grade. I’ll put them up from time to time according to how I’m feeling at the moment.

This one is called Demon.

The Wind

New ending to the song

Alone he walks the road
Some time before the wind comes, he cries
To the heavens.
They say that the evil is gone
But that’s a lie, the devil’s around us
All around us.

The wind has come
The wind has come at last

But when will it end?
The ocean parts again
The panicked fleeing masses engulf us
All is chaos

The wind has come
The wind has come at last
But what will it bring?
Those who walk the path
How do they know the right one was chosen?
And how could we know?

Governments fall
The people will rise up.
A new age begins
As freedom is no more.
The end of it all
Is just the beginning
But while we’ve made the mistake
Have we really learned?

A child lost in time
The flourescence of the hailstones astounds him
Shelter he seeks
The road was walked alone
But a thousand vigilantes patrol now
The danger is steep

The wind has come
The wind has come at last
But what will it bring?

Day after day the adaptions that mankind are making
Are collecting the pieces of a former-lived life off the ground
A few of these pieces of glass that have dropped have been shattered
But we must all start anew if we want a new life to be found

The militant might will empower the strong and the wealthy
The age of the chorus of freedom has come to an end
The people are once again safe and secure in their homesteads
The concept of freedom their children will not comprehend

The darkness settles in
By candlelight the whole world is watching
And waiting…
It rises in the east
A new nation of the people empowered
Will peace be wrought?

The wind has come
The wind has come at last
But what will it bring?

These Lights Are Blinding

I’m stranded in the desert
I hear them laugh all around
I wish they could find me
But I’m nowhere to be found

The neon signs taunt me
The light stains the air
This tempo keeps changing
But I won’t fall to despair

Can’t you see when you’re alone in the desert
The unspoken bliss of temptation before you
The fear in your mind may lead you into the darkness
But don’t let it come, my light will be there

My clothes are all tattered
My visage is worn
I’m rusted and weathered
But I shall not be forlorn
The buildings around me
Have burned to the ground
The message they’ve sent me
Can be heard all around

Can’t you see when you’re alone in the desert
The unspoken bliss of temptation before you
The fear in your mind may lead you into the darkness
But don’t let it come, my light will be there

This temporal vision
Will stress me no more
But while it escapes me
I know I’ve seen it before
My mind is quite restless
My heart races fast
This vision won’t vanish
Was this a look at the past?
